the thin, brown box came a few days ago. "Artifact Uprising" was printed in block letters on the strip of white tape that encircled the box.

sealed inside clear plastic was my book, square and white. eight images were stamped on the cover. i gently drew the pad of one finger across bold, orange red flowers; a mist soaked field at sunrise; an image of drew and me, smiling brightly at the camera.

square instagram photos spilled across the pages of the small book, a memory etched into each image. as someone who doesn't print images enough + only makes albums years later, i'm fiercely proud of this album. barely three weeks had passed since the first of january and i was holding an entire year in my hands.
