S family | Dunn, NC
the two guys met on their first day of nursing school. it was bound to happen: in a class of ninety something students, there were fifteen guys. they were the minority, to say the least.
almost three years later, Drew and I are fast friends with this small family. our friendship has seen the birth of Henry, a couple of moves (ours being the most recent, but theirs being the farthest -- one hour east to Dunn, NC); and lots of dinners and weekends spent together (Terri cooks the most almost amazing southern food. I swear, her mashed potatoes are the best I've ever tasted!).
Durham is an oh-so-transitional town. many of our friends moved here for school or a job, and then a lot have left (Colorado, Utah, California, Illinois, South Carolina...the list goes on and on) for the same reasons. i'm so grateful that we've been friends with Michael, Terri, and Henry for so long!
Henry was a bundle of excited energy that day. holding still for five seconds? nope, he wasn't digging it (...most two-year-old's don't). so Michael spun Henry round and round, Henry laughed like crazy, everyone scooted close together, and i frantically snapped away. we did this a few times and holy batman, it worked!
no family shoot is complete without couple shots. Hubs entertained Henry for ten minutes while i shot Terri and Michael. the light was beautiful and the two of them...gorgeous.
